Winslow Kraft Flip-Top Mailer
The Winslow PR box is a corrugated kraft mailer with a hinged flip-top lid and a single-color black print of the Winslow wordmark over a mountain-and-sky illustration. Closed and open, it is a classic form done well. The fold lines are crisp, the lid seats flat, and a printed interior panel greets the recipient the moment the box opens.
Where the shaped boxes in the HVRLA portfolio make a statement, the Winslow box makes a reliable one.
The Brief
Winslow needed a press kit and seeding mailer that could go out in volume, ship on its own without a second carton, and carry the brand’s outdoor, hand-drawn character without a big print budget. The answer was kraft, one ink color, and a lot of care in the die line.
Structure and Materials
The mailer is a roll-end tuck-top corrugated box, often called a flip-top, cut from E-flute kraft board. The lid is hinged along the back edge, folds over, and tucks into the front with side flaps that lock the box closed without tape. It ships flat, assembles in seconds, and is strong enough to travel as the outer package.
HVRLA tuned the lid tuck so it closes cleanly after repeated opening, which matters for press kits that get passed around an office, and kept the interior dimensions tight to the product so nothing shifts in transit.
Print and Finish
Single-color black on natural kraft is one of the most forgiving and most photogenic print specs there is. The Winslow wordmark and illustration were printed by flexography directly on the board, outside and inside the lid, so the brand is present before and after opening. No laminate, no coating, which keeps the kraft texture honest and the box fully recyclable.
Why Kraft Mailers Earn Their Place
Kraft flip-top mailers are the workhorse of influencer seeding and press kits. They are economical at scale, they ship without a secondary carton, and they photograph with a natural, earthy warmth that suits outdoor, grooming, coffee, and craft brands. The interior print is the detail that separates a designed mailer from a stock one: when the lid comes up and the brand is already there, the unboxing has a beginning.
Who This Format Suits
Outdoor and apparel brands, coffee and food, grooming, craft spirits, and any company sending a steady stream of press and creator kits. Kraft mailers also pair well with a hero piece for the shortlist; Winslow could send the flip-top to a thousand creators and a shaped box like the Dairy Boy barn to the top fifty.
