Custom PR Boxes and Influencer Packaging
Hollywood & Vinyl Records L.A. (HVRLA) designs and manufactures custom PR boxes, influencer mailers, and branded unboxing packaging for brands that want to be noticed on camera. A PR box has a different job than a shipping carton. It lands in the hands of creators, editors, and buyers, and the first thirty seconds of the unboxing usually decide whether the product earns a post, a story, or nothing at all. We build for those thirty seconds.
Our engineers and graphic designers sit in the same room and work the same die line, so the structure and the artwork grow up together. The result is packaging that survives the courier, print that reads at phone-camera distance, and inserts that hold the product exactly where the lens expects to find it. Clients bring us a brand, a product, and a launch date. We hand back packaging that is ready to manufacture.
Because different designs call for different materials, HVRLA works through a network of global manufacturing partners and matches each structure to the right stock, whether that is rigid chipboard, corrugated kraft, or a specialty substrate, while keeping cost and schedule in line. When a project involves licensed artwork or several rights holders, our licensing and purchasing team sorts out the intellectual property early, with discovery and cost guidance, so collaborations and co-branded drops clear legal without drama. Fulfillment is next on our list; the warehouse is being remodeled and the inventory system integrated now.
The HVRLA portfolio runs from sculpted novelty boxes shaped like seashells, barns, ovens, and coffins to clean kraft mailers and twelve-door advent calendars. If your brand needs influencer seeding kits, press kits, launch packaging, or subscription-style mailers, HVRLA is the Los Angeles packaging partner that makes the box part of the story.
Seashell-Shaped PR Box for Dairy Boy Apparel
Dairy Boy asked for a mailer that looked like it had washed up on a beach, so we built one. The Dairy Boy shell is a hinged clamshell PR box sculpted into the form of a scallop, with radiating ribs, a fluted edge, and a full-color coastal print that shifts through coral, pink, lavender, and blue. Lift the lid and the Dairy Boy wordmark sits inside, above a nested compartment sized for product or apparel.
Closed, open, and stacked in multiples, the shell holds its print and its shape from the first unit to the last, which matters more than it sounds when a few hundred of them are heading out to creators at once. Shaped packaging is where HVRLA does its best work. The die line has to survive a courier, the color has to read on a phone screen, and the silhouette has to be something nobody mistakes for a brown box. For influencer seeding, novelty PR boxes, and limited-edition drops, the Dairy Boy shell makes the case better than we can.
Oven-Shaped Retail PR Box for Walmart
Sometimes the box should look like something else entirely. For Walmart we produced a PR box in the shape of a miniature range, printed in a brushed stainless finish with four burners and control knobs across the top, a front door with a window, and an interior cavity that opens to stage the product inside.
We photograph structural prototypes the same way we present them for approval, in isometric, front, and open views, and the Walmart oven box shows why. Every surface carries a printed metal texture that holds up at close range, and the fold-down door turns the unboxing into a small reveal. Shaped retail packaging like this suits kitchen and cookware launches, food and beverage seeding kits, and any campaign that benefits from a double take. HVRLA engineered the structure, specified the board, and managed the manufacturing run so the finished piece keeps its lines all the way to the countertop.
Pasture-Print Gable Handle Box for Dairy Boy
The Dairy Boy gable box is a carry-handle PR mailer printed edge to edge with an open pasture under a hazy summer sky. The handle is die-cut into the peaked top, the Dairy Boy wordmark runs along the base, and the whole thing ships flat, then folds up into a sturdy, lunch-pail style carrier that people tend to keep.
Seen straight on or from an angle, the gable box shows what happens when a familiar packaging form is treated as a landscape rather than a label. The structure is ordinary; the print is not. Gable boxes are a practical choice for influencer gifting, event swag, and farm-to-table or lifestyle brands that want something tactile and portable without the budget of a rigid box. HVRLA handled the die line, the four-color process print, and the manufacturing, and delivered a handle box that creators carry on camera long after the unboxing is over.
Barn-Shaped Keepsake PR Box for Dairy Boy
Dairy Boy has a farmhouse identity, so HVRLA built the farmhouse. The barn-shaped PR box has a pitched roof printed with shingles, white board-and-batten siding, cross-braced barn doors, and a small side window, all rendered in printed, die-cut board. The roof lifts off to open the box, and once the contents are out, the barn stays on the shelf as a display piece.
From the front or from an angle, the architectural detail holds up at arm’s length, which is the distance most unboxing videos are shot from. The structure ships flat and assembles cleanly, and the form tells the brand story before anyone sees the product inside. Shaped novelty PR boxes of this kind work well for lifestyle, apparel, dairy, and agricultural brands, and for any launch that needs a photogenic centerpiece. HVRLA designed, prototyped, and manufactured it.
Tennis Ball Rigid PR Box for the DB Sport Collection
The DB Sport box takes the Dairy Boy monogram and gives it a court to play on. Shaped like a tennis ball compressed at the moment of impact, this custom rigid box is finished in a saturated optic lime with a subtle felt-like texture and the DB mark in crisp white across the crown. From the side and from above, the flattened-sphere silhouette reads as motion frozen mid-serve, a fitting container for the active sport component of the DB Sport collection.
Where the seashell, barn, and gable boxes speak to Dairy Boy’s pastoral side, this piece speaks to its athletic one. The structure is a two-part oval rigid box with a friction-fit lid, engineered to hold its curve through shipping and open with a clean lift on camera. Sport-inspired PR packaging of this kind suits activewear, performance accessories, and collection launches that want a single bold object in the creator’s hands. HVRLA designed the form, matched the color, and manufactured the run so every ball in the set came out identical.
Licensed Game Packaging for Lotería Picture Bingo
HVRLA produced retail and PR packaging for Lotería, the classic Mexican picture bingo game. The lid carries the familiar illustration of a figure shouldering a globe against a blue sky, and the side panel presents the Lotería wordmark, a playing-card motif, and the descriptor “Classic Mexican Picture Bingo Game” in yellow.
The Lotería lid and side panel together show how we handle a licensed property. The color reproduction is faithful, the type and iconography follow brand standards, and the box is sized to work on a retail shelf and as a mailer. Licensed packaging always raises intellectual property questions, and HVRLA’s licensing and purchasing team manages rights discovery and cost guidance alongside the design work rather than after it. For game publishers, toy brands, and heritage consumer products, the Lotería box respects the original and still performs as a modern unboxing piece.
Kraft Flip-Top Mailer for Winslow Press Kits
The Winslow PR box is a corrugated kraft mailer with a hinged flip-top lid and a single-color black print of the Winslow wordmark over a mountain-and-sky illustration. Closed and open, it is a classic form done well. The fold lines are crisp, the lid seats flat, and a printed interior panel greets the recipient the moment the box opens.
Kraft flip-top mailers are the workhorse of influencer seeding and press kits. They are economical at scale, they ship without a secondary carton, and they photograph with a natural, earthy warmth that suits outdoor, grooming, coffee, and craft brands. HVRLA designed the die line, printed inside and out, and sourced the board through our manufacturing partners so cost and lead time stayed predictable. Where the shaped boxes above make a statement, the Winslow box makes a reliable one.
Advent Calendar and Windowed Sampling Mailers for Fly By Jing and Juni
Fly By Jing and Juni bring seasonal and sampling formats to the HVRLA portfolio. The Fly By Jing advent calendar is a rigid, book-style box in lacquer red that opens like a gatefold to reveal twelve numbered doors, each framed in gold ornament, with the brand’s chili crisp mascot at the center. The Fly By Jing mailer is a dark teal corrugated box with a printed interior that lines up the sauces and jars under the brand’s “dip, glaze, drizzle, marinate, stir fry” cue. The Juni flip box joins them, a sky-blue mailer with a clear window that shows off a row of adaptogenic drinks against painted clouds.
Between them, Fly By Jing and Juni cover most of what food and beverage brands ask us for. Advent and countdown calendars for holiday campaigns. Interior-printed mailers that point the camera at the product. Windowed boxes that sell before they open. HVRLA engineers each structure, matches the material to the price point, and manages print and manufacturing from a single team.
Coffin Box and Yellow Snack Mailer for Super Wow and Killer Flavor
Snack brands with a sense of humor get packaging to match. The Super Wow coffin box is exactly what it sounds like, a six-sided, coffin-shaped PR box printed in black with a jagged lightning-bolt skull logo for Super Wow veggie-puffed chips. The Killer Flavor mailer is a bright yellow corrugated box with a hinged lid and a bold black interior print that announces the benefits of plant protein with a nod to the brand’s horror-movie tone.
Super Wow and Killer Flavor show how a category as crowded as snack chips can still win attention through structure and color. A coffin die line is unexpected, stackable, and instantly shareable. A yellow box with black type reads from across the room. HVRLA designs both shaped and standard mailers, handles the four-color and spot-color print, and manufactures to the brand’s launch calendar. For food brands, creators, and press lists that have seen every brown box, this is the alternative.
Beverage and Lifestyle Mailers for Juni, Happiness in a Can, and Winslow
Three beverage and lifestyle mailers, three different moods. The Juni flip box leads with a clear-window front, cloud-illustrated sides, and a row of four flavored cans that sell the product before the lid moves. The Happiness in a Can box is a pastel gradient mailer in lavender, pink, and blue with the tongue-in-cheek warning “may cause spontaneous good moods” and the product name in clean white type. The Winslow kraft PR box brings its single-color print and flip-top lid, and a little grit to balance the sweetness.
Playful, dreamy, and rugged, but built the same way. HVRLA’s engineers and designers work the structure, print, and material together so each box survives shipping, opens cleanly, and performs on camera. Windowed mailers, gradient-printed corrugated boxes, and kraft flip-tops are all in the HVRLA catalog, and every one is manufactured through our global partners on schedule.
