Dairy Boy Barn PR Box
Dairy Boy has a farmhouse identity, so HVRLA built the farmhouse. The barn-shaped PR box has a pitched roof printed with shingles, white board-and-batten siding, cross-braced barn doors, and a small side window, all rendered in printed, die-cut board. The roof lifts off to open the box, and once the contents are out, the barn stays on the shelf as a display piece.
Of the three Dairy Boy pieces in the HVRLA PR box portfolio, the barn is the one most likely to still be on a creator’s shelf a year later.
The Brief
Dairy Boy wanted a hero box for a limited run that would tell the brand story before the product appeared and would not end up in recycling the same afternoon. A barn was the obvious subject. The question was how far to push the architecture before it stopped being a box and became a model kit.
HVRLA settled on a level of detail that reads at arm’s length, which is the distance most unboxing videos are shot from. Enough siding, shingle, and door hardware to be convincing, not so much that assembly or cost ran away.
Structure and Materials
The barn is a two-part construction: a rigid base that forms the walls and floor, and a separate pitched roof that lifts off as the lid. The roof is built on folded board with a reinforced ridge so it holds its angle, and it seats on an internal ledge so it stays put during shipping. The doors are printed rather than functional, which keeps the structure honest and the price sane.
Inside, a flat platform holds product at the door line so the first thing a creator sees is the hero item, framed by the walls.
Print and Finish
Board-and-batten siding is mostly shadow, so the artwork carries printed shadow lines that give the walls depth under flat light. The shingle roof uses a tonal pattern with slight irregularity so it does not read as wallpaper. The Dairy Boy mark sits above the doors where a real barn would carry its name.
A matte laminate on all exterior faces keeps the white siding from blowing out on camera and protects the corners through transit.
Why It Works as a Keepsake
Keepsake packaging earns repeat impressions. The barn shows up in the unboxing, then in the background of later content, then in a shelf shot months on. For a lifestyle brand built on place and atmosphere, that is worth more than a second mailer. The structure ships flat and assembles cleanly, so the keepsake value does not come at the cost of logistics.
Who This Format Suits
Shaped keepsake boxes of this kind work for lifestyle, apparel, dairy and agricultural brands, hospitality, and any launch that needs a photogenic centerpiece on a shortlist. Pair it with a lighter format such as the Dairy Boy gable box for the longer list and the campaign covers both tiers.
